In this presentation Dr. Laura Howe introduces participants to the basics of polytrauma system of care and brain injuries. She defines TBI, explains the mechanisms of injury, and explains how severity level of TBI is determined. Participants develop a better understanding related to the prognosis for moderate to servere TBI. The speakers also offers suggestions for what a provider or family member can do when interacting with someone who has an impairment.
